Cyprus!

Ceļot Bez Robežām 03.02.2024
Cyprus is the 3rd largest island in the Mediterranean, right after Sicily and Sardinia, and is located south of Turkey and north of Egypt. There are direct flights to Cyprus from Riga, and the island certainly doesn't lack tourists.
Our first hotel was near the center of Larnaca, Radisson Beach Resort, with a great sea view and a large pool.
The Larnaca Tourist Centre had taken care of our excellent plan, and we are incredibly grateful to them for that. If you also decide to fly to Larnaca, feel free to write to them on Facebook; they will answer all your questions and help in any situation.
We started our exploration of Cyprus with a boat trip on a large cutter, kindly provided by the company A.A.K. Larnaca Napa Sea Cruises. During the entire trip, we had the opportunity to snorkel twice and watch planes land at Larnaca Airport.
After the boat trip, we were hungry and headed to the city center for our first lunch. Since we had been warned about the enormous portions in Cyprus, we ordered one dish to share between two, and we still couldn't finish it. The conclusion is clear: portions in Cyprus are indeed huge.
Having eaten well, we were ready to enjoy local cocktails, where the bar owner not only explained the history of each cocktail but also allowed us to mix them ourselves. The bar is called Sunmoon Hospitality.
Lelde not only mixed these cocktails herself but also drank them all, so our first evening ended much sooner than planned.
Our next morning began with a visit to a local winery, Ktima Christoudia, for a tour and wine tasting. Even though it was only 9:00 AM, we tasted the wine and even received a gift of two bottles of wine, which would come in very handy later in our trip.
A couple of hours later, we had to be at the Golden Donkeys FARM, but while we still had some free time, we stopped to see an 800-year-old olive tree and taste the products made there.
On the way to the donkey farm, we also visited the very charming mountain village of Lefkara.
At Golden Donkeys farm, we were greeted by the owner herself, Stella Georgiadou, who is also a popular Cypriot singer and influencer.
We spent several hours at this farm, watching how Halloumi cheese is made, olive bread from Fanta drink, tasting donkey milk and liqueur, feeding the animals, and seeing a 1500-2000 year old olive tree.
This afternoon, Lelde's sister Laine and her husband Raivis arrived, and we would be staying together for the next few days.
We spent the evening in Larnaca city center, but the next morning we checked out of the hotel and headed to the 22nd most beautiful beach in the world, Nissi Beach, stopping by a small lake on the way to film some flamingos, who were not at all pink this time of year.
Nissi Beach was crowded, so we quickly swam and headed to a lovely mountain village, where we had a chic and romantic room for one night, which had been a donkey stable several years ago. Pentasino Traditional House
If you want peace, tranquility, romance, and to experience Cypriot life, then this apartment is perfect for that.
But in the 2nd episode of Cyprus, we move to the Paphos area, where for 3 days we will enjoy a magnificent hotel on the seashore, participate in a Greek evening and dance local dances, hike through a canyon, have lunch in a restaurant without a menu, experience another drone crash, and much more.
