When is the best time to plan a trip?

The recommended time for tourism, when the climate is not too hot, is from January to April.

Amansala Resort

Besides Hard Rock Cancun, we stayed in Tulum, at the Amansala resort, a hotel designed for nature lovers, vegans, and yoga enthusiasts. It is located right on the seashore, with daily yoga classes and healthy vegan food available all day.

Travel insurance

It is important that everyone planning to travel abroad purchases appropriate insurance.

When purchasing travel insurance, it is important to ensure that the insurance coverage includes medical expenses and repatriation if you are injured or fall ill abroad.

We use and recommend insurance provided by Rietumu Bank. Contact our consultant here

Attention!

For car rental, you need rental car insurance in Mexico. According to Mexican federal law, drivers are required to have local car insurance.

Restaurants and entertainment

Cancun is especially famous for its nightlife, we recommend attending a party.

How much does it cost?

- Car rental for 2 weeks $300
- Hotels cost from $50-$1000 per night.
- Theme parks are expensive, can cost $200 per person for entry, Coco
- Bongo starting from $76 per person, but for this price you get 15 drinks and a burger.
- Car gets clamped, fine $25
- Lunch for two people $35
- Snorkeling per person $25

We recommend

1. Always carry a water bottle with you; in this heat, you need to drink water constantly.
2. Some hotels do not have air conditioning, so you should check this before booking a hotel.
3. You need to exchange a lot of small change, as tips (the so-called "propina") are expected everywhere.
4. Take a car, as you will see much more than by using public transport.
5. Coco Bongo disco club.
6. Sian Ka'an Nature Reserve.
7. Rio Lagartos lagoon.
8. Chichen Itza.
9. Uxmal.
10. Pink lakes near Rio Lagartos.
11. In Cancun, you can see baby turtles hatching at night and then being released into the sea – a fantastic experience.
12. Definitely enjoy one of the Cenotes; cooling off in that heat is a blessing, and there are many of them.

We do not recommend

1. Don't go into the jungle in shorts or flip-flops; there are many spiders, snakes, and other reptiles.
2. In many places, flying a drone is prohibited; if caught, you'll be in big trouble.
3. The sun can still burn through clouds, so be careful.
4. Don't go on excursions in the middle of the day where there's no shade or wind; it's extremely hot.
5. Don't book a hotel without air conditioning; it will be difficult.

Take note

In Mexico, it is so hot in summer that elderly people and those with heart conditions should not go there, and the same applies to small children; the heat is unpleasant and the humidity is also very high.

Please note that the entire Yucatan is geared towards American tourists, so prices everywhere are very expensive.

There are no public toilets! Mexico City is a modern, bustling metropolis with over 8 million inhabitants. So it's not surprising that neither residents nor tourists have access to public toilets! If you need to use one during your trip, be sure to check out various restaurants and cafes.

Safety

When traveling to Mexico, be prepared for any situation. Petty theft is the most common crime against tourists, so it's important to always keep an eye on your belongings in public places.

Approximately 40 million people visit Mexico each year, and violence against tourists is rare. Most often, problems arise for tourists if they become victims or witnesses in drug-related crimes.

Our experience in Mexico showed that people are generally very hospitable :)
