Visiting the Romanian Bears!

The sixth season of "Traveling Without Borders" begins with adventures from Romania.
We flew to the Romanian capital, Bucharest, with a direct AirBaltic flight, and although at first Bucharest didn't seem like a particularly interesting city to us, during our evening walk we saw so many beautiful places, buildings, and restaurants that we can definitely say it pleasantly surprised us, and now we understand why it was once called the little Paris.
Well before our departure to Romania, we had met Julia, who works in the Ministry of Tourism, and thanks to her, we have come here to film 4 excellent episodes. Julia also showed us Bucharest on the first evening, and she will be with us for the next two days on our Romanian adventure.
The next morning, we drive towards Bran Castle, seeing a beautiful church on the way, driving on the Transfagarasan mountain road, meeting Romanian bears, and missing our visit to Bran Castle.

We visit an ancient Citadel and a Romanian writer's museum, have lunch in a Monastery where monks prepare the food, and at the end of the day, we are taken on a tour of one of Romania's most important monasteries.

We start the next day searching for bison, but only see them in a small zoo. We prepare lunch with a local Romanian hostess, and in the afternoon, we head to the Romanian Canyon and the Red Lake.
