We caught the skiing bug
A week after New Year's, together with the Kroņi family, we took a short trip to Slovakia, where in the High Tatras region, for 3 days, we enjoyed the mountains, blizzard, sun, snow and wonderful views. One of our company tried skiing for the first time, while another was already trying to prove their skills on the Black run.
Slovakia is at a great distance to reach it from Latvia in one day, but we decided to stay the first night on the Polish side, an hour's drive from Poprad. Arriving in Poland, it was raining and there was no indication that we would be able to ski the next day, but waking up in the morning, we were surprised by the thick layer of snow! After breakfast, we head straight to the Aqua City Poprad hotel, where we leave all our belongings and head to the mountains to enjoy the first day of skiing and snowboarding.
Together we ski for 3 days on 2 different mountains, also go sledding, and enjoy the evenings in the hotel's large pool and Spa complexes.
This was our second time in these mountains and definitely not the last, Rodrigo and I have already agreed that next year we will go skiing in Slovakia again.
The Slovak mountains are very suitable for skiers of various levels, from beginners to Pro-level athletes. The slopes are equipped with various types of lifts and we never had to wait in long queues to rent equipment or ride the lift up the mountain!
