Switzerland, Basel Zoo and Furka Pass!
Having explored a part of Romania, it was time for an autumn trip with the children, and we had long shared a common goal: to see beautiful Switzerland and its fabulously beautiful mountains. Now we can say that our small goal has been achieved, and returning from this country, we definitely know that we will want to go back there again.
Thanks to Kia Latvija and Forum Auto for entrusting us with a great travel car, the Kia Sorento – a true dream for longer trips with children! If you ask why, the answer is in this video.
During the school autumn holidays, we decided to go to Switzerland, but to make the whole journey even more exciting, we decided to conquer the first part of the journey by ferry, Stena Line. We had been on a cruise ship before, but traveling by ferry, especially together, was our first adventure. If you compare it to driving on land by car, taking a ferry allows you to relax and get a good night's sleep, as well as enjoy delicious meals three times a day.
Arriving in Germany around 10:00 PM, our journey to Switzerland takes 10 hours, so after driving for 4 hours, around 2:00 AM, we find a spot by the roadside to park the car and rest. In the morning, we have breakfast at McDonald's, see the first beautiful autumn trees and mountains, and arrive in Basel.
After checking into the hotel, we head to Basel Zoo, then buy kebabs and settle in for the night.
The next day, we get up early and drive to see the mountains, aiming to cross the Furka Pass and drive along the same road where the James Bond film Goldfinger was filmed 65 years ago.

Switzerland, Aquabasilea, Gruyeres, Lauterbrunnen!
In the 2nd episode of our Swiss series, we start the morning with a visit to the Aquabasilea water park, where the kids enjoy the water slides and I enjoy the sauna complex. We spend the evening in Basel's old town, and the next morning we drive to meet Artūrs and his family at the medieval village of Gruyères. This mountain-surrounded village resembles a film set for a movie about ancient times. After meeting Artūrs and his family, we go to see an interesting but crazy Giger Museum. Giger won an Oscar for the design of the movie Alien.
After eating the traditional Swiss and French cheese dish Fondue, we drive towards Italy, intending to cross the mountains and enter Italy, but unfortunately...
The next day we head to one of the most beautiful villages in the world, Lauterbrunnen, and will spend one night in a mountain hotel, which can only be reached by a small train.

Mürren, Wengen, Miniatur Wunderland!
The final Swiss series this season, but not the last!
Waking up in the morning at the hotel, we rushed to the balcony to see if the fog had cleared and if today was our lucky day, with no clouds and the mountains revealed in all their beauty.
This morning will remain unforgettable, as the body was filled with a sense of happiness from these enchanting views, and the whole day would be a magical dream, until the drone crashed, but more on that later.
After breakfast, we planned to take a train up the mountain, but the expensive train tickets deterred us from this plan; we weren't ready to pay 500 EUR for a mountain ascent.
So, we changed our plans and headed down to Lauterbrunnen, took our car, and drove to the big waterfall, even walking under it, then continued to the next village, from where we took a lift up to the fabulously beautiful village of Murren. This was another fairy tale and another Woooow.
After exploring Murren, we got back in the car and drove towards Germany, but the views wouldn't let us go; we had to fly the drone, but one unsuccessful maneuver and the drone crashed. Within an hour, we found it and headed to Germany to make our way to the ferry.
We stayed overnight in a spacious apartment called Schreiber-FeWo 01. If you enter this name on Booking.com, you can see its location.
The next day we drove and drove, until we arrived at Miniatur Wunderland, which truly surprised us. This isn't just for children; adults will also be delighted by what they see. The whole world in miniature, cars, people, trains, and even airplanes move. Everything is so real and genuine.
See you in the Seychelles adventures.
