Slovakia by bike!
We put the bikes on the car rack and head towards Slovakia, stopping in Zakopane on the way, with the intention of riding up to Morske Oko, but unfortunately, we don't succeed, as bicycles are not allowed, walking would take too long, and horses are expensive. But we don't get sad, we find a beautiful path winding along the river, reminiscent of an alpine mountain trail where cows are led to pasture.
By afternoon, we are already in Slovakia and settling into the hotel, but the next morning, we planned to drive up to the Sliezsky Dom hotel, but again plans change and to reach the hotel, we have to walk or ride bicycles. We choose bicycles, but it's not easy at all, however, the views we see when we reach the hotel pleasantly surprise us, and we even go for a small walk along the mountain lake.
Having ridden down with bicycles, along the wet mountain path, we are emotionally charged and go for lunch.
Beautiful Slovakia and the great mountain hike!
After a bike ride up the mountain, or more accurately, after pushing our bikes up the mountain, we planned the next day to be a bit more relaxed. In the morning, we headed to Spiš Castle, then explored the medieval town of Levoča, and in the evening, we enjoyed the Aquacity Poprad water park.
Recharged, we wanted to test our strength and endurance again the next day, so we packed water bottles in our bags and headed to the mountains. The first stop was reached easily, but to reach the second point, the mountain peak, we had to exert ourselves, and someone even shed a tear! We had climbed the mountain, but we also had to descend, and that turned out to be even harder than going up.
But those magical views were fabulous, and for them alone, it was worth the climb.
On the final day, we visited stalactite caves, went for a bike ride, and relaxed in the hotel spa.
